On 1–3 July, CeADAR researchers travelled to Ljubljana, Slovenia, to present the final version of the Intelligence Layer at the Face-to-Face (F2F) ICOS project meeting.

As leaders of Work Package 4, CeADAR has played a pivotal role in designing and delivering the Security, Intelligence, and Data Management layers of the ICOS MetaOS — a next-generation, meta-operating system that seamlessly connects IoT devices and cloud infrastructures.

This plenary meeting marked an important milestone: preparing for the final project review and showcasing the fully developed Intelligence Layer. Now integrated across all ICOS layers, this component delivers advanced machine learning and analytics capabilities directly into the platform. The Intelligence Layer is designed to empower a wide range of ICOS use cases, from industrial IoT deployments to smart city infrastructure, making cutting-edge AI and analytics more accessible, deployable, and impactful in real-world environments.

The work presented in Ljubljana represents more than just a technical achievement; it is a significant step toward enabling secure, intelligent, and scalable solutions for the rapidly growing IoT–cloud ecosystem. With the Intelligence Layer now in place, ICOS is well-positioned to demonstrate the power of integrated intelligence in its upcoming final review.

The team from CeADAR included: Ricardo Simon Carbajo, Andres Suarez-Cetrulo, Jaydeep Samanta, Sebastian Cajas, and Romila Ghosh.
