About WorkJuggle
WorkJuggle is an Irish Learning and Talent platform focused on Early Careers, Career Converters and and continuous professional development. Committed to inclusive practices and agile delivery, WorkJuggle empowers organisations and individuals through tailored learning programmes that promote user autonomy and engagement. Their growing client base across the UK & Ireland spans industry, academia, and government sectors, with a strong emphasis on supporting women in tech and leadership roles.
In 2024, WorkJuggle aimed to transform its digital learning capabilities to better support asynchronous, personalised content delivery across various formats and devices. The organisation turned to CeADAR, Ireland’s European Digital Innovation Hub (EDIH) for AI, to guide and implement this transformation.
Initial Engagement
Digital Maturity Assessment
To kick off the collaboration, WorkJuggle completed CeADAR’s Digital Maturity Assessment. This evaluation provided key insights into the organisation’s digital readiness and helped prioritise areas for technological enhancement. The results laid the groundwork for a structured prototype engagement.
Project Scoping
Through a series of collaborative workshops, WorkJuggle and CeADAR defined the needs of learners, tutors, and administrators. The sessions focused on:
- Mapping day-by-day learning experiences
- Identifying technical requirements
- Prioritising core features for a 3-month prototype
- Ensuring scalability and readiness for future AI integration
Test Before Invest
The Challenge
The main challenge was to bring WorkJuggle’s unique learning vision to life in a browser-based prototype that could:
- Personalise content without initial AI integration
- Deliver structured daily content
- Include gamification elements
- Be easily managed by tutors and scalable for future development
Scoping the Solution
To validate the concept before committing to full-scale development or app store deployment, the prototype was developed as a web-only application. This web-first approach was chosen intentionally to reduce technical complexity and development time, allowing for:
• Iteration and refinement based on WorkJuggle user feedback• Avoidance of app store compliance delays and platform-specific constraints
• A low-risk environment for testing functionality prior to considering production deployment.
The front end was built in React, making future mobile deployment more efficient while maintaining flexibility in design.
The Solution
CeADAR’s EDIH team developed the prototype firstly in Azure/AWS hybrid, later migrating it to AWS only.
Learner Experience Features:
- Daily Login Flow: Motivational quotes and multimedia content to kick-start learning
- Content Style Selection: Personalised delivery of video, audio, or text based on user preferences
- Adaptive Quizzes: Real-time feedback with multiple attempts and learning explanations
- Gamification: Progress tracking, streaks, and leaderboard features to boost engagement
Tutor/Admin Portal:
- User Management: Create and manage Learner, Tutor, and Admin accounts
- Programme Creation: Upload and schedule learning content and quizzes
- Engagement Reporting: Track learner activity, quiz scores, and last login metrics
Although AI was not included in the first version the prototype was intentionally designed to support future AI-integration.
Results & Impact
Strategic Outcomes
- AWS EdTech Accelerator: WorkJuggle’s dedicated leadership and vision, supported by the initial prototype from CeADAR, led to its selection for the prestigious AWS EdTech Accelerator, hosted by the Learnovate Centre at Trinity College Dublin
- Internal Capability Building: Co-development with CeADAR resulted in knowledge transfer and access to prototype code
- Scalable Architecture: The React-based solution laid the foundation for mobile deployment
Impact Highlights:
- Validation of product-market fit and learning innovation through accelerator selection
- Enhanced organisational capacity for digital learning solutions
- Prototype serves as a blueprint for smart, adaptive learning models in future iterations
- User-first design promoting flexibility, accessibility, and learner autonomy
Services Provided
WorkJuggle benefited from CeADAR’s EDIH for AI Test Before Invest services, including the digital maturity assessment advisory service, requirements scoping service and prototype development and testing service.
Partnering with CeADAR was a game-changer for WorkJuggle. Their structured approach—starting with the Digital Maturity Assessment and culminating in a functional, scalable prototype—helped us reimagine how we deliver learning. The team combined deep technical knowledge with a genuinely collaborative and user-focused mindset. They were incredibly accessible, responsive, and just really nice to deal with throughout the project. This partnership not only accelerated our product development but also played a key role in our selection for the AWS EdTech Accelerator. We’re excited to build on this strong foundation as we scale our learning solutions.
