Applications are invited for the position of EDIH Senior Data Scientist  in the newly established European Digital Innovation Hub (EDIH) for AI in Ireland as part of CeADAR Ireland’s Centre for Applied Artificial Intelligence.  CeADAR has been successful in the Europe-wide competitive selection process to be the EDIH for AI in Ireland in addition to its continuing function as a national technology centre.
The EDIH is focused on supporting small and medium enterprises, and public service organisations, on their digital transformation journey.
There are 4 key services that this AI EDIH will provide:
•         Test before Invest: The EDIH will conduct digital maturity assessments to assess the readiness of businesses to implement data analytics and AI. The EDIH will use case studies to showcase the benefits of AI for businesses, develop proofs-of-concept and ensure knowledge and technology transfer.
•         Skills and Training:  The EDIH will offer training tailored for different audiences. Training for executives, training for technical team members and training for everyone.
•         Support to find Investments: The EDIH will help businesses identify suitable funding through national and EU instruments, and will support start-ups in securing venture funding.
•         Ecosystem and Networking: The EDIH aims to connect companies, institutions, public administrations and other stakeholders in both Ireland and the wider EU, fostering collaboration that drives digital transformation, and application of AI in Irish businesses
CeADAR is seeking an experienced individual who will support the Test before Invest pillar and who have a demonstrated successful track record in data science in industrial research settings (>4 years) or academic centres. Individuals for this role are expected to have proven experience applying artificial intelligence, machine learning, computational statistics, and statistics to specific problems, particularly in areas such as deep learning, graphical models, reinforcement learning, computer vision, natural language processing and data representation. The ideal candidates will have a keen interest in contributing to the development of proof of concepts to allow companies to leverage the benefits of state-of-the-art AI algorithms
Salary Range: €64,000 – €70,000 per annum
Appointment on the above range will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.
